Kyzart to Song-Kul — On Horseback Through the Mountains

34km across alpine passes to one of Central Asia's most breathtaking lakes.

This is one of Kyrgyzstan's classic horse treks — and for good reason.

Starting from Kyzart Pass, you ride through remote valleys, cross two mountain passes, and spend a night with a nomadic family in Kilemche Jailoo before the final climb to Zhalguz Karagai Pass at 3,325 metres.

The moment Song-Kul appears below you — a vast alpine lake surrounded by open grassland — is one of those travel moments that stays with you. Your guide knows every trail, every family, and every shortcut.
